Dear friend,

If we are going to do this thing together, there are a few things you should probably know about me.

At my core, I am a straight-shooting, Jesus-loving, closet hippie New Englander just trying to make her way in my Southern home.

I am a pastor, whose church has no walls with sheep of many colors, shapes and temperaments. I like to collect people, like some might collect sea shells. I love the variety and the perceived imperfections that make them perfectly them.

I am being refined daily through the crazy, mysterious enterprise they call parenting. My three children could not be more different from one another or from me. They are all amazingly gifted, unique and are truly instruments of God’s grace, refinement and restoration in my life.

I am the wife of the most patient man to walk the face of this earth. We are not perfect. We never will be. But we love Jesus and let Jesus love us through each other as we seek to bravely live into that divine mystery of becoming and being one flesh.

I am offended by many things including pickles, mustard and anything else steeped in vinegar; the heat and humidity of the south in the summer, and a poorly loaded dishwasher. (And yes, if you are into the Enneagram, I am INDEED a One!)

Nothing makes me happier than the wall of magnetic dry erase boards in my office, except maybe curling up with a cozy blanket and a bar of chocolate in front of a roaring fireplace. I am a lover of great podcasts on brisk fall walks and most of all of PEOPLE. I love people. People are my favorite!

Because people are my favorite, I am utterly wrecked on a daily basis as I gaze upon the brokenness in our world and in our souls. My deepest desire in life is to be used by God to bring wholeness where there is brokenness. While I would love to right every wrong in the world, I believe God has called me to enter into the work of “His Kingdom coming on earth as it is in Heaven” one heart, one person at a time.

This is what Freed to Soar is all about. It is about helping to unveil the lies we are prone to believe, the ways that we tend to define ourselves, and the relational obstacles that prevent us from living full, free, joyful lives of faith in Jesus. It is then about equipping people to identify and take the next steps of living into God’s unique and beautiful purpose for their lives. We must be FREED in order TO truly SOAR.

I am excited to seek to become more and more freed to be able to soar with you!

Love, Allie
